'Community Art Studios'

01 July, 2014
Gyumri, Armenia

On the 1st of July Gyumri, the Cultural Capital of Armenia will host another interesting and creative public cultural event – Open Art Studios in the neighbourhoods. During the whole day 4 artists living and working in Gyumri will exhibit their works for their neighbours and other community members. They will take out their paintings, sculptures and other art pieces they create to show to their neighbours.

The main purpose of the event is to promote communication between community members, invite people to the studios of artists living in the neighbourhood to discover what are the topics they are working with and how they can make a change in the community.

Inspired by this community art event students of Gyumri Branch of Fine Arts academy will also exhibit their works in one of the central parks of the city and meet citizens interested in their works.

The activity is organized by the Gyumri Cultural Experimental Center with the support of CAUCULT Caucasus Cultural Initiatives Network project, implemented in Armenia under the European Union Eastern Partnership Culture Programme.
