Intercultural Dialogue & Cultural Diversity in Armenia

January 30, 2013

Marriott Hotel, Yerevan, Armenia

On January 30th, the conference "Intercultural Dialogue and Cultural Diversity in Armenia: Challenges and Solutions", organized by the International Center for Intercultural Research, Learning and Dialogue, took place in the Armenia Marriott Hotel.

The main goal of the conference was to raise awareness to cultural participation in Armenia, as well as to promote cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue. The conference brought cultural actors/agents and representatives of decision-making state bodies together to discuss the development tendencies and the challenges of cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue.

The plenary session of the conference presented the CAUCULT project and the results of the Community Needs Assessment carried out within the framework of the project to the participants. The guest speakers informed the audience about the current situation of migration and tourism flows and their influence on the cultural life in Armenia. During the two working sessions followed after the plenary session, the conference participants identified the problems and main challenges that arise within this field and looked for possible solutions to improve the situation.
