Preparation for Cultural Policy Recommendations
Armenia - Georgia - Azerbaijan
CAUCULT external strategy and policy expert Behrooz Motamed-Afshari travelled in the beginning of July to the South Caucasus to meet the project team members and the Key Dialogue Workers. The goal of this week-long trip was to inform and discuss with CAUCULTers two upcoming events, which will support the preparation of the cultural policy recommendations. These will be presented during the International Cultural Policy Conference in Tbilisi, Georgia.
At the beginning Behrooz travelled to Armenia ( 01.07.) where he visited “Community Art Studios” event in Gyumri and had a discussion with the KDWs from all four regions in Armenia. In Georgia (02.07.) and Azerbaijan (05.07.) meetings with Key Dialogue Workers were similar. “In every country I met the project team and KDWs. During the meetings we also had space to discuss the concerns, issues and find answers to existing questions” – explains Behrooz. Key Dialogue workers who couldn’t participate in the meeting will be briefed by their colleagues about the content of the meetings. In addition Behrooz will send very soon a report incl. frequently asked questions as well as a form for the report.
“Overall I would like to evaluate this visit to the South Caucasus very positively”, says Behrooz, “I was happy to see that Key Dialogue Workers are active, happy and in good shape. I was nicely surprised, that KDWs actually are not loosing but gaining motivation, which is unusual in such a long term project”. He also expressed that it was great to visit three project countries, share information among CAUCULTers and to develop a common idea on how and what will happen next.
